Hot Water Heaters
Hot water is a commodity most tend to take for granted until, of course, it’s gone. We recommend avoiding a disaster, not waiting until it is too late, and calling us for pricing on repair or replacement options before your house or workplace is flooded. The life expectancy of a hot water heater is 7-10 years, depending on the type of water. After that, it is a risk to continue use. The cost of the damage done from a tank bursting is much higher than the replacement.

Basic info to consider when choosing a new water heater
Different types of water heaters include chimney vented, power vented, tankless and hybrid tankless (in order of least to most efficient) and a traditional storage tank. There are also condensing and non-condensing water heaters. Also, there are indirect and direct units. Indirect water heaters must be heated by an outside source, while direct units may be connected to your existing boiler and fuel source, making this type convenient and more efficient. Many systems have smartphone connectivity capabilities allowing you to control your system remotely.
Types & brands of water heaters:
1.Tankless water heaters- get endless on-demand hot water, space savings, eco-efficiency and peace of mind by upgrading to a tankless system. These are the most efficient systems, due to their condensing technology, reaching up to 98% efficiency in some models. Tankless systems only heat the water when you require it, unlike tradition water heaters that heat the water even when you aren’t even home. Gallon for gallon, you’ll spend less heating your hot water with a tankless. They also take up less space.

Bradford White
Bradford White offers units that are either chimney vented or power vented, and are powered by either electricity, natural gas or LP gas, and the tanks come in a variety of sizes such as a 40, 50, 75 and 120 gallon tank.
The first hour rating (FHR) on a water heater tells you how much hot water the tank will produce in the first hour of usage. Generally, units with a higher FHR have more BTU input and offer a better recovery rate. They will reheat quicker so you don’t have to wait for hot water between showers or baths. If you run out of hot water frequently it might be a good idea to see if you can increase the gallon capacity of the tank you have when it’s time for replacement.
