“Our heating went out and it turned out to be a faulty propane valve. We called Simon’s for an emergency service (other companies said they didn’t service our area–story of our lives). “As part of our maintenance plan with Simons Heating & Cooling, we receive two service calls each year – one to prep for winter, and one to prep for summer. This was our pre-summer service. Our technician was Eric Smith. Eric was prompt and courteous, and extremely knowledgeable about our HVAC system. He was meticulous in his cleaning and maintenance of our AC unit, and took the time to explain clearly what he was doing and what he found (or did not find) while inspecting and cleaning our unit. He provided more detail than I could possibly absorb, but I appreciate his willingness to spend time with me and answer every question that I could throw at him. He was careful to restore all components properly, and he even respected our home by removing his shoes without being asked to do so. “Our furnace in our 1880 home was from 1948. It was a gravity based system, with a whopping 20% efficiency. Simons was one of the companies that we received quotes from to replace our system. I will start with the quote. The quote for a 96% efficiency combination boiler system with installation, beat what others quoted for just a normal boiler. The turnaround time for agreement to installation was very quick. At time of installation, the workers showed up each day, on time and they stayed for a full day of work each day. They were very communicative and respectful. The cleaned the area, removed the old equipment, and re-piped everything into a beautiful system that is much easier to access than the previous system. We now have continuous hot water and a great heating system, all in one. I can’t recommend these guys enough. Bonus…we bought a Nest learning Thermostat and the installation tech, although not part of the set up, installed it for us, no extra charge. Great company. Wayne D. on 5/2020

While working on the generator, Don noticed that the AC unit, nearby, did not sound right. “My central air and furnace was not working. I called TSK out of Ballston Spa. TSK sent a tech over, the tech looked at my furnace and told me I needed a new blower motor, and that the control board was burnt up. He gave me an estimate of $4,000 for the new motor and $3,000 if I wanted to replace the central air unit, for a total of $7,000. I wanted a second opinion because something about what the TSK tech told me didnt make sense to me. I called Simon’s heating and cooling, they sent Derek M.(a tech) right over. Derek examined my furnace and told me the motor is fine the only thing I needed was a new capacitor. Derek was great! He answered all my questions, was very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. He even helped me with my pellet stove , which was not part of the service call. I will always use Simon’s heating and cooling from this point on. “Called Simons at a busy time for them (average weekly temps of 90 ) and they were able to come out the same day to help diagnose/repair the central AC in my home. Matt L. took it upon himself to drive to the store to get the part needed to finish the repair. He also rewired my thermostat while here when asked. A few days later, the thermostat did not have power. A quick call and another tech came out within an hour of being on the phone to figure out the problem. Don was an outstanding professional in every way. He arrived a few minutes early, and things only got better from there. He was very courteous and has a very pleasant personality. He explained everything very clearly and concisely as he went about troubleshooting the problem. He found the problem much sooner than I had expected and resolved it in short order. He also explained how to clean the cooling coils as he cleaned them and what else I should do at the start up and end of the season with the air conditioning system, all the while being very professional and friendly.
